    Hi,
I am newbie to DVD and have a simple question. Will DVDs that I create in the US play on DVD players and TVs in Europe, or is there a compatibility problem as with VCRs?

    Thanks for your advice.

    Hiya,

Believe it or not, we Europeans can actually get AMERICAN films on DVD in Europe ;)

    Just joking with ya, Ok...

Almost every player found in Europe can handle DVD's created and written to the NTSC standard, as well as PAL.
(only America has such a repressive regime that they will not allow you guys to have DECENT players like us - LOL).

    All in jest..

Don't worry about standards if you are sending stuff to Europe (but the French are a bit odd), as we can handle just about everything.

    Have Fun....

If you strip out the region-coding with something like DVD Shrink I don't see a problem.
