I just got my new iPhone 3G and apparently it's been jailbroken. So I was wondering if I jaibreak it, will it void my warrenty? I've read that a simple restore will fix everything but what if my iPhone falls to and breaks to the point where it doesnt even turn on and i cant restore it? is it worth it? I mean I dont really use IM'ing on my phone and dont really care fore simple phone games. The only cool things I see about jailbreaking it are emulators and the new themes.

Weird I thought they didn't release the jailbreak for the 3g iphone yet. Are you sure its not the 1 gen iphone?

Either way jailbreaking does not void your warranty if you take the proper precautions.
If something happens, Restore it either by putting in recovery mode 1st or in DFU mode.
If you must, take it to an apple store don't mail it. Usually those apple guys will just look at it,assess it, then replace it(ive gotten a jailbroken phone replaced before). If you mailed it, they are more prone to really checking it out.

Also if you damage your phone to the point where it wont turn on or you get water damage on it. Regardless if it was jailbroken or not-Apple wont replace it under their warranty. They only replace faulty hardware(I had a faulty camera on my iphone- thats why they replaced mine.

    Hope this helps..............
