1080i to 1080p? Don't you mean 720p to 1080p. In that case yes it is worth it.

The sony SXRD. Why? It has 1920x1080p line of detail which alows it to reproduce all the detail in a 1080i image. The samsung only has 1280x720p lines of detial.

oh man, i already changed my mine, i bought a little samsung to hold me over until i can afford the sxrd 50 inch maybe 60, i'm still debating, but i saw you post something about a 60 inch sony qualia or something like that, whats the deal with that thing, it looked impressive.

 

The Qualia 004 is a front projector that retails for $30,000 and incorpoorates the 1080p SXRD technology. After the debut of the Qualia 004 the Qualia 006 rear-projection was released.

The SXRD technology first appeard, as a rear-projection option, in the Sony Qualia 006. The Quaila 006 is a 70" 1080p rear-projection. It originaly sold for $13,000 (it retails for about $10,000). Then the budget 50" and 60" Grand Vega's with SXRD were made which retail for less than half the price of the Qualia 006.

and hopefully in ten years there will be a better tv out that i want, if not i'm goin be very dissapointed with the engineers who make new tvs

Yeah its crazy how tech becomes junk after a few years.(lol)! As soon as you buy something they come out with something even better just to loosen the strings on your purse or wallet as it may be. 10 years ago hardly anyone could afford HDTV now its mainsream. If I ive long enough could buy that 80" LCD with 2 acres on mars!
