You're going to re-install windows anyway after a hardware change like that.

It's one CPU with tho processing cores. Not exactly two CPUs but it should give you much better performance than two single core CPUs in the same motherboard.

Yeah, a dual core CPU wont give you as much performance as two CPUs of the same architecture with single cores, but they are closer together so it reduced latency so it cancels out. Plus two CPU motherboards are EXPENSIVE.

didnt think you can have 2 cpus on one board unless they were built in

No they have boards like that, but I believe they are close to 700-800 dollars.

ouch, cheaper getting dual core, do they support 2 dual cores, that could be some immense power their, wow serious modders and gaming pc builders would want to use that if they wanted to build the ultimate machine

    wow that would be awesome

Haha yeah that would be fun. Two of the new 9 series video cards running in SLI, with phase change cooling, overclocked to max, with two quad core CPUs. That WOULD be awesome.

Not so. Intels new Quad Core CPU's utilize a LGA775 socket and are compatible with "civilian" motherboards. Like this motherboard I plan to purchase.

If you are in the UK you will not be able to buy from Newegg as they don't deliver outside the US. Tough luck :(

Sorry this is a bit OT but my system runs C&C 3 fine, not sure of the frame rate and I only run at 1280x1024 (no AA and about mid-range graphics settings) but its good enough in my opinion.

The system requirements can be found here:
    http://www.commandconquer3.com/cnc3_system_requirements.html

Graphics wise only a 32MB card is needed, although they recommend a 64MB or higher.

    My system specs are:
    Gigabyte K8NS-Ultra-939
    AMD 3200+
    1GB DDR 800 (PC 3200) Kingston RAM
    2x 74GB Raptors in RAID 0
    Gigabyte 6800 GT
    Antec 430W PSU

Again, sorry for the slight OT. :p

    Peace

Thank you, I got it three years ago this December from my parents. I think they said it was just a bit over $2000. :p

I put one together for a little under $1500 that i'm gonna purchase pretty soon (because I don't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse or speakers) I can PM ya the list if you want. :)

    Peace
