Hi, my dad has been having this HTPC computer for quite sometimes. Hi, my father has had this HTPC computer for quite sometime. He hasn’t installed anything relatively new. A few days ago it started acting strange; I had to restart the computer at least twice for the curser to activate and to see the blue login screen. Now it doesn’t matter how many times I restart it, after the windows loading sign its over it goes into a blank stage where I cannot see the curser or the login screen I have tried: safe mode, check for virus system restore go into recovery console and do a CHKDSK -r
is it connected to a monitor or a TV? or both? when you boot it normally and it "goes into a blank stage where I cannot see the curser or the login screen" does the monitor go into standby after a few minutes? is there any disk activity after it "goes into a blank"? when it has gone blank, does the numlock/capslock light go on and off if you hit the numlock/caps lock key? are you saying it boots into safe mode windows okay?
