windows security

    i got one of these update msgs, installed it and now all my software which is borrowed does not work. help, how do i get rid of it?

    cheers for the tip but ive done so much other stuff since... is there no other way

    is it just a program??
    or is it like windows

    I have no idea what you downloaded to that, but check the event viewer to see why the programs are not opening.
    Here are some steps that may help....

    Try opening them in safe mode
    Do some basic maintenance, like disk cleanup, defrag, chkdsk /r command.
    Check to see if ur pc has full administrative privileges set to your account.

    But the thing that will help the most is to check and see in the event viewer why they are not opening.
    Do not reformat because of this problem, or do a system restore.
    I repair computers for a living, there is always a solution.
    Unless its water damage.
