OK make sure you have it hooked up like this..

Then look in your manual. You are going to have to set up the Router it will tell you to open up your browser and type in an IP adress like 123.21.123.4 then it should walk you threw the process...

Let me know how it goes..

To establish a connection from your PC to the Wireless Router:
    1. After installing the Wireless Router in your LAN, start your PC. If your PC is already
    running, restart it.
    2. Start your WEB browser.
    3. In the Address box, enter "HTTP://" and the IP Address of the Wireless Router, as in this
example, which uses the Wireless Router's default IP Address:

I know I have everything connected properly, no cables are defective. I can't connect to my ISP, it says remote computer did not answer the connection request.

goto the command prompt in programs, than at the c:\ prompt type this ipconfig/release & than enter. this is what the screen will look like before pressing enter.
    c:\ipconfig/release
but this is without the router hooked up just the dsl & the computer not the laptop if using wireless. once router is hooked up between dsl & computer not laptop, do same as above except as ipconfig/renew enter.

I tried the renewing and releasing the ip address thing, I followed every single step exactly as yuo said...stil doesn't work. Both my lapto and computer work with just the DSL hooked up. Maybe it's the setting I have to connect through the router. I have both the DNS server address and IP address on automatic. I have turned off Windows firewall and my system firewall. The wireless connection doesn't work and neither does any other connection through the outer. The laptop can detect the signal produced by the router.

Kinza you have to set up the router to talk to your ISP I gave you the instructions in my last post... That is your Routers IP just go into there by opening your browser and typing in the IP in the address bar I gave you in my last post. Then your router should walk you threw a wizard which will have you up and running in no time... Didn't your router come with instructions on setting it up. Also make sure you do all of this threw the computer that is connected into the router with the LAN cable...

This should be your IP to the router HTTP://192.168.1.254
If not your manual will have it you need to put that in the Address bar of your browser to setup your router..

I had tried the setup before, I have SBC Yahoo! DSL, I chose the settings for that and when I ran the test it failed.

Ok, this is really weird, I accidentally plugged in the ethernet from the DSL into LAN 1 into Internet and got connected. You think the wires were switched by accident? How do I connect through my laptop?

I tried to establish an internet connection from the pc to the laptop and this is the message that came up on the pc:

Other computers cannot connect to the internet connection through this computer. In addition to the internet connection, this computer must have a connection to your network,
