wireless router help

    hi i have a netgeat wireless rounter and a ntl cable modem internet concetion how do i conectet wireless rounter to my pc

    Follow the 'quick start' instructions that you got with it!

    Briefly, the cable from your modem should be removed from the PC and placed instead, in the router. Another cable then links the router with the PC. That's if you want to hard wire it.

    If you want that PC to be wireless then there is obviously no need to link the router to the PC.

    It's that simple really.

    Once the router is running, click on 'view available wireless connections.

    DON'T FORGET TO ENCRYPT THOUGH

    @angus999: pfft, encryption does almost nothing!

    @kawsar: take my advice, keep your router on only when you need it. iam not saying dont encrypt it, its just that they are to easily hacked, even when encrypted!

    @-kateman- can you or can someone find me if im running stealth? in other words my signal is not broadcasted but im connected wirelessly to my notebook or desktop?

    yeah its possible. but its rare. lets face facts shall we? somebaody's not gonna be bothered trying to find stealth networks when the could just drive around to another open network. now the only real reason somebody would hack a stealth network is because they want to do it from their house or they have a grudge against you.

    If im running in stealth then they can't find my wireless network or even know im there but know doubt there is alot of war driving going on these days...even from neighbors.

    more than you can imagine. i wonder how its gonna be in a few years time when more things start needing wireless? rofl!

    hmmmmmm, drive by wireless DNA fraud, wtf?

    this thread is going way off, it started with how to conectet a wireless rounter and now we're talking about DNA recognition! lol

    but what does all this mean? ...air conditioning in a car!

    thanksfo the advice people but i stil cant conect my router to my modem because my router has a phone line port a adsl i think and my modem has a cable goin through the wall

    so dont nowhow to conect to my pc
