WMP Unknown Error with AVI file, codec maybe?

    I'm trying to play back an avi file (windows xp identifies it as a "video clip" when I click properties), but when I try to open it with WMP, I get the error "Windows Media Player encountered an unknown error." So I clicked get online help, and was given the error code C00D11CD. Apparently this is a general error code, and when displayed with avi files, usually means a codec is missing. So after receiving some advice, I installed the most recent xvid codec, to no avail. Then I ran gspot, but I'm not sure what to make of it, so here's a screenshot:

    Also, I followed praetor's guide months ago, so please don't link me to that. :)

    Nevermind, I got it to work with divx player, but I don't know how to delete a thread.
