i found the post by mediaguru and the software site was http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv.htm. also see if you can use ffmpegx to convert it. hope that helps.
do we know what version i need.. i can download a trial.. i'm not sure which one tho.. nevermind... i found it... but now i just need quicktime pro 7
