It starts with 1A20-****. remove incd as it is a packet writing software and is known to interfere with burning. http://www.burstcopy.com/dma/xp/ Use this link to turn on your dma use that link to turn your dma on. you have too many programs running in the background..try turning off some unneccesary applications while burning or your hard drive will be swapping. whoa your winaspi is out of date use http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...SPI-4.70&sess=no&prodkey=Windows+ASPI+Package to update. looks like your trying to burn drm protected music you downloaded. If you have exceeded the number of times you played the songs you cannot copy them to cd. Also if you have not exceeded the I believe 10 times to play a downloaded mp3 then open using windows media player, it will automatically downloaded the drm rights to play the song and burn to cd or cdrw then load from there and the song(s) is no longer protected. @ashlea69 - - your firmware is out of date, 1.57 is latest - http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/p...ticle/0,,2076_4249_201803982,00.html#Firmware to update the firmware, you need to extract 2 files from the firmware exe file you downloaded - Extract the 2 files and delete the Pioneer upgrade exe file. You will be left with 2 files. Download DVRupdate 0.9 from http://www.dvd-recordable.org/wwwim...date v0.9.zip Extract DVRupdate 0.9.exe to the same folder as the 2 files above. Run DVRupdate 0.9 and do the following: 1) Select your drive from the 'Device' drop down box 2) Select the Kernel file by clicking the folder icon to the right of the 'Kernel' field. The correct file will automatically be selected if you have run DVRupdate from the same folder as the 2 files. 3) Select the Normal file by clicking the folder icon to the right of the 'Normal' field. The correct file will automatically be selected if you have run DVRupdate from the same folder as the 2 files. 4) Click 'Start' The operation takes about a minute. @ashlea69, Looking at your second log seems you tried to do the same thing without fixing what i pointed out in my first reply. Take your time and follow the steps creaky and me have suggested and slow your burn speed down to 24x. @ creaky good catch on the firmware as I can't access that page from work anymore...grrrr

@ashlea69 - - i can't make it any clearer i'm afraid, we've corrected all the incorrect settings, tweaked a few things, and there's nothing left that's wrong other than 2 possibilities left to try/resolve - 1) the blank cd's. try BETTER quality cd's. if that doesn't resolve things then maybe it's your burner. 2) maybe the problem is your burner. Nero's logfiles are very helpful, as you can see we've trawled thru it and attacked your setup bit by bit and there's nothing incorrectly setup..
hi ashlea69, I see that you are still having issues burning a cd. If possible could you try to burn a cd using windows media player 9 or 10 so we can determine if the problem is with your burner. As creaky stated everything we see in your log file has been addressed. One thing i did notice: seems you downloading some mp3s from a paysite or peer2peer and they have DRM protection. Not all but some may be causing this issue.
i've tried using windows media 10 and it wont burn. can i get rid of the dma or whateva it is on some songs?
hi ashlea69, In some cases you can get rid of the drm protection if you have not exceeded I believe playing the track 10 times. Are you able to play the songs in wmp 10? Downloaded mp3s from a paysite or even peer2peer sites are sometimes protected from being burnt. I used to use similiar programs to get specific songs but broke down and bought the cds as to avoid any legal hassles and the quality is better. Have you tried a complilation of music you own the cd....just trying to eliminate the seeming fact that your burner isn't going bad.
i can play the songs in windows media player and i jsut went out today and brought a non cheap blank cd and it burned at 4x so i put my cheap cd in and seen if it would burn at 4x but it did the same thing so why does it burn with non cheap blank cd's and not cheap ones?
*smacks myself on the forehead...umm ok we were so concerned with your burner that we all overlooked your choice of media. To put it in simplest terms cheap media is always a bad choice. For example take the comparison of a hyundai vs a accord. Both vehicles may have the same build, engine and mpg capabilities but with components from manufacturers less than reputable the hyundai is less reliable than a honda accord. Same concept applies to media; you think behind a name brand the quality is immaculate but some companies (namely memorex) use cmc disks vs. lets say verbatim who uses mcc coded disks. Everyone will try to throw their hat in the media game while cutting corners at the consumer expense. For the most part stay away from store brand media. Also inferior made media may be shipped with uneven/ bad dye and usually don't last that long. All in all it is always better to spend a little more as opposed to buy a cheaper brand and risk wasting time burning coasters. Sorry if i seem long-winded but this is something i learned from this site and stick with the motto you get what you pay for. Now to get back on the main topic if i was you i would continue to use better brand (sony, fuji, to name a few) when burning cds. As far as backing up or creating dvds i would stick with the same brand except to throw taiyo yuden and verbatim into the mix as they are reputable media that last quite a few years, produce less first time coasters and are generally supported by most here on AD. Please note to make sure is you buy fuji they are the ones made in japan if you are burning a dvd. Verbatim and fui are commonly on sale at bestbuy. happy burning stick around and enjoy the wealth of knowledge here on AD.
ok thanx just in curiousity how come i've always used cheap blank cd's and they have always worked up until 2 weeks ago????
i now no its cause im using cheap blank cd's and dvd's cause it isn't burnin dvd's using cheap dvd's anymore all i'm asking is why all of a sudden it doesn't burn using cheap cd's and dvd's when it use to! and is there anyway of fixing it cause i have bout 300 cheap blank dvd's and 100 cheap cd's that are just going to go to waste
ashlea69, Unfortunately you have to bite the bullet regarding the excess cheap media you have. To be honest maybe you got a bad batch that won't burn but that does not mean all of them are crap. My suggestion as I've learned here and choose to pass on is take this as a lesson learned. Cheap media (cds and dvds) are a major factor in burning problems.
