I have recorded a movie several times. it will play fine on my computer, but it will not play well at all on my home DVD player. i have recorded several movies on the same computer, same DVD burner and same software and they play fine on both. why wont the one movie play.

Go to this site http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers and plug in your player model number. Posts will tell you which types and brands of disks have compatability with your player.
In general DVD-R works in more players than DVD+R, especially older set tops. Some players just don't like certain brands of media (the cheaper ones).

it says that my player is compatiable with DVD-r and that is what i am using. they are Verbatim Digital Movie DVD-r 4X. i record at 2X. those are the only DVD's i have used and some movies play fine.
