Hello, I am getting a write error everytime I try to backup a DVD. I have used two different burners and also used DVD XCopy Platinum as well as DVD Shrink and DVD Decryptor. The burning process starts and right after the write process begins it starts to finalize the disc. The strange thing is that it happens on both burners and varoius softwares. It stops at the same spot every time. Below is a list of the hardware and software that this problem occurs on.

    Sony -DRU700A Dual Layer
    Lite On- SOHW 1213S
    DVD XCopy Platinum
    DVD Shrink
    DVD Decryptor

I hope someone can help cause this is driving me nuts!!! Thanks. Gibanez

Is this only one file that is doing this or have you tried others?

Hmm this is strange that all this software and both writers are acting up. What other burning software do you have loaded on your computer?

I purchased DVD Cloner 2 which was succesful but I have to burn on split discs most of the time and I was told by co-workers that they have burned some really long movies on one disc with X Copy. I bought the DVD Cloner because it supported Dual Layer burners and at the time I only had the Sony. Thinking that X Copy and Shrink as well as Decryptor might not support dual layer burners, I purchased the Lite On.

    Hello,

I suggest you use CloneDVD2 & AnyDVD this is by far the best & it supports DL media as well.

    Here is the link http://www.slysoft.com/en/

    Another link is www.katz.ws

    Enjoy

    Cheers

    Mark

So what you are trying to do if I understand this correctly is burn a movie onto 2 disk's?

DVD Decrypter and Shrink both support DVD9 (Dual Layer) format.

DVDX Copy is junk get rid of it.

Clone DVD and Any DVD are good programs but how does that solve Gibanez's situation?

My guess would be one of you burning programs is conflicting with the other. Try uninstalling them and then just try a couple at a time like Shrink and Nero or Shrink and Decrypter then if that works try installing your other software until you see where the problem is.

Again I would suggest getting rid of other programs you don't need for now to see if this helps. I believe one of your burning programs is conflicting with others

An important question that was overlooked What type of file exactly are you trying to burn?
