    Hi.

dkraut is correct. Your drives seem to have slipped into PIO mode from DMA mode where they should be. Use Device Manager to uninstall your IDE channels to reset the transfer mode to DMA. Here's a link to a guide:

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

Nero 6.6.1.4 is a lousy version. Downgrade to version 6.6.0.18 by uninstalling the current version, running the Nero 6 Clean Tool, and then installing the following two 6.6.0.18 packages. Be sure to have your Nero program serial number available for reinstalling.

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html

    Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe
    Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

There's a newer firmware 1033 available for your burner:

    http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storage/products/Drivers/SDR6112_1x33.zip

This is poor quality media. Use Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Made in Japan labeled media, especially Fuji and Sony.

    Edit: text added below.

If you continue to have problems using Nero, output a folder of video files or an image (ISO) file from your authoring software and use ImgBurn to burn the folder or ISO (image) file.

DMA needs to be on for everything

    DMA guide here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038

cmc disc are low quality media, quality media is a must use verbatim or taiyo yuden

Thanks so much for the prompt responses! I'll try upgrading the firmware, different media, and turning DMA on...
