write errors

    hello ppl
    can anybody tell me what is the major cause of write errors. i'am using Ridata 8x dvd-R 4.7gb dvd's and they are suppose to be grade A dvd media and i have went through 15 out of 50 dvd's with some kind of write error. Is it something more serous like my processor or motherboard? My burners are sony DRU-710A
    and a liteon SOHW-832S. Thanking U in advance

    what is the specific write errors? what programs are you using?

    I am using dvd1click and copytodvd 3.0 I also have used roxio 7. I dont really have any idea what the error's are to frustrated to remember them . dont know what else to say.

    why not start simple. Just use DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter (both are free).

    It would help if we knew exactly what the write error's where, but since you can't remember lets try this. First of all I would recommend that you use a RW disk until you have this figured out so you don't throw anymore money down the drain.

    Have you updated all software and Firmware for your drives?

    What speed are you burning the disks at?

    What speed processor do you have?

    Memory? How much?

    What program are you using to burn your DVD's with and is it the latest version?

    The most common causes of right error's would be, bad media, burning to fast for your PC to keep up, memory becomming full.

    What is it exactly you are trying to burn Data, video, audio, ISO??

    Is the write error at the beginning or end of the burning process? or the middle?
