I have a 260n media center. At times when I am burning a movie(writing)the drive writes for aprox. 15 secs. then gives me a write error? I am using icopydvd 2 for software. Icopy thinks its a firmware issue. Any ideas???

There is a good chance it is firmware related. The first couple of HP drives I owned needed a firmware upgrade straight out of the box. I no longer own them. I'm a Pioneer man now.

Did the firmware upgrade solve your problems? I see HP has a couple listed on their site. I wonder if this would cure my writing error. It seems if its going to give me an error it does it at 15 seconds into the burning. I spoke with HP and they said to use HP or Sony Media first and this will take care of the problem? Thanks
