    Hi mschill
You may just need a firmware update for your drive if it's not up to date.
You can check the manufacturers site or here:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_search.php
Just need the make and model to see if there is a later version.

One thing firmware does is help the drive to recognize and use the correct write strategy for media especially newer media.

Another problem could be the media you are using. Use Verbatim or made in Japan Sony, Fuji or Maxell.

Ok did the firmware update take? There are 2 models of the 1608 - duw160812x or the duw1608arr.
    Which one do you have?
In Clone click on 'write existing data' - under dvd writer the make & model will be listed. The firmware version is listed next to rev.
    What does your's have there?

For the Memorex & Verbatim - what speed is the media? Like 16x?

Ok here is a link for version 1.11
    http://download.aopen.com.tw/default.aspx
Pick DVD Rewriter drives than your model.

Claims to add support for - & + R media.

The dvd region+css free is a program that removes that copy protection and makes the drive region free. Same thing as AnyDVD so you really don't need it.

Try the firmware update above and see if that does the trick.

Editted to add: Here's a direct link to download. Have AnyDVD tried off when updating the firmware.

I, too, am experiencing the same issue. Ever since I loaded the newest version of AnyDVD 6080 I get the same write error 10 11 W12. My computer is a brand new Dell Inspiron E1505. When I say brand new I mean September '06. Up to the point of loading version 6080 of AnyDVD I had not experienced any write problems.
According to the Device Manager the drive is a TSST L632D? I am not even sure who makes this drive and it is not listed on the firmware page.
Anyone have any other ideas what may be happening?
