    Hi,
How would I go about writing subtitles for an AVC1 encoded MP4 video? I've tried using the software Subtitle Workshop but my subtitles don't seem to appear; I've saved them as both SubRip .SRT and MicroDVD .SUB files but neither show up when the video is played. I play the video using VLC and it recognises that there is a subtitles file present (i.e. it shows the subtitles menu) so what am I doing wrong? Is it just not possible to use subtitles files with MP4 videos?
    Many thanks.

PS: Please feel free to move this thread if it has been submitted to the wrong section or refer me to an existing one if my problem has already been answered.
