My son ran the patch for the latest dashboard upgrade. Just after the install, the xbox 360 restarted. He made the mistake of powering off the console. After powering on, he noticed that his gamer profile said corrupted. He tried to recover it from xbox 360 live, but after putting in all the information to recover, he gets a message saying that it was not fully recovered and to make sure that his hard drive or memory card are plugged in or that he is connected to the internet. He called support and they told him to delete his corrupted profile and try the recover again. They are saying it's a possible hardware issue with his hard drive. I think it's an issue with the virtual connection between Windows Live and XBOX Live. He logs into Windows Live with no problems. The error occurs when it actually tries to recover the gamer profile. He has even tried to trick XBOX Live by adding a new gamer profile with his old name. It recognizes that it is already registered but fails to recover. Has anyone else had this problem? The dude is going through withdrawals right now.
