    Can anyone help?

I know you can put a PC DVD to an Xbox, but is the reverse possible?

Soometimes I would like to play DVD's on my PC, is this doable until I can afford a proper one.

Can I download PC drivers for the Xbox DVD?? I think I have a thompson drive.

thats an interesting question, I am not sure if you can.
However it may very well be possible.

All i can find is the tutorials for the reverse as well.

If I find some information out I will let you know.

    Thanks Jimmy42.

I think I will look at the model numbers of the drive and see if there are PC drivers for it on the net.

Although the Drive may have built in software that makes it unique ie it may not be an off the shelf PC part, but who knows????

This is not possible. If you take the XBOX drive and put it in the PC, Windows will not recognize it. Someone on this board had mentioned about PC using either FAT32 or NFTS, but XBOX uses FATX.

It probably would work but you would have to change the tray and put a cover on the front

You would also need some way to power it, the standard IDE POWER Cable you plug into a PC DVD ROM is different then the XBOX Power cable.

Hey guys, for those who said you can't your wrong! You can and its easy. I've done when I first started modding. I have an external bay. the kind you can put hard drives or dvd drives in. all you have to do is leave the power cord plugged in on the xbox and replace the ide cable with one comming from the computer. be sure the computer is off if you are not using a external drive. you can use internal but computer must be off. all you do is then boot the xbox and after that boot the computer. if you are running xp it will set the drivers. that is it!
