xbox error and hard drive question

    you would have to find the eeprom hdd key with an eeprom reader or a modchip buy a new hdd and lock it with the eeprom hdd key.

    where do i buy a new hdd for an xbox at? and what you said in order to get the eeprom i have to make an eeprom reader and i dont know how to solder at all?

    Maybe this comes as a noob question but anyways, If I have a hard modded xbox is there any problem if I try to soft mod on top of it?

    why would you want to softmod on top of the hardmod if your xbox is already modded with the hardmod

    Well let's just say it's an obsolete or old chip or whatever. But for whatever reasons I have... can it be done or not?

    Honestly i really dont know I never had a hardmodded xbox just a softmod but i dont think you can do that if its already modded but its worth a shot though

    yes it can be done. what modchip is it? why would you wamt to do that any way?

    Error9 is caused usually by a dead philips dvd drive. Unplug it and get error 12 just about proves it.

    is there away to like fix the dvd drive? if i like replaced it with a new one would that work or would it have to be the sameone or something.. kuz this xbox is all i have left and i would really like to get it fixed so it will work again

    yes you can buy a replacement drive and it will work. any xbox replacement drive will work on it. oh and error code 09 has nothing to do with the dvd drive just the hdd. sometimes the ide cable comes disconected.

    so which one is it then the hdd or the dvd drive? I checked the Ide ribbon on it and it was still connected to it but i still get 09 when trying to like turn the xbox on..i checked everywhere for a new ide cable but no luck finding one and then someone told me u can you another hdd kuz xbox hdd has some key to it

    the dvd is the one where you put the optical media into. oh and you cannot put another xbox hdd into a different xbox because every xbox has its own unique hdd key.

    Is there a way to fix the dvd drive so it will play again? so i guess If i replace the dvd drive it will still work right? yeah i know know that you cant put another hdd in because i tried it lastime and i got error code i think it was 06 or something like that..but yeah i really need to fix it so i can play my xbox again..kuz i cant find any xboxes anymore since they dont sell them at all

    you can POT tweak it. (potentiometer)

    How do i by of pot tweaking it or potentiometer ive never heard or that b4 how do i do i go by of doing that..
