Xbox servicing by yourself

    hey i turned on my xbox and i got a message to call service asap.

    when i called i was told that i would have to pay 80.00 for service on my console.
    i was wondering if anybody has ever attempted to take apart a xbox to fix it.

    i think i hear some spinning of something when i turn it on so mabee something is spinning in there can somebody help me before i pay friggin 80.00 fo a fool to do it 4 me.

    lots of people have taken apart their xboxs and done things you can only imagine
    id say your hdd is fried, so i would suggest getting a cheap mod chip and then you can diagnose your xbox better that way. no error codes in the corner?

    sounds like your original xbox hard drive is dead. Look on ebay for a replace for the original hard drive, or buy a cheap modchip and use a bigger hard drive.

    very simple to do.
