http://xbox-linux.sourceforge.net/docs/howtoswprep.html of course, I'd need 7 bucks for a usb vconverter, and 6 bucks to rent the game.
if you do the mechassault exploit, you can only put eds debian on at the moment, and you need to use a boot disk to open up linux everytime you want to use it, and you cant open up the disk tray to put your wmv files on it, so i suggest you buy a modchip you smacktard
LOL thats a funny ass word...smacktard i remember seing it in another post a long ime ago and yeah juts buy a modchip it's easier dude.
well then leave since you don't wanna do anything we suggest, we tryna help you uot man so i guess you have no solution for your problem
Wow, someone on a forum SCARED to mod an X-box? Because it's ILLEGAL? whatever. How old are u by the way? I'm really not trying to make fun of you (if we were in person I for sure would) but worrying about the legalities of modding an XBOX? Yeah, I'd really like mod my car to make it faster, but then I'd be going over the speed limit....oh well. Before you post about this again, I challenge you to do a search and see how many people have seen legal action taken for modding xbox's? 0000000000000000000000000
There's no point in continuing this thread, because we all know it'll end up an ugly political debate on right vs. wrong. WE THE PEOPLE make the laws and it is impossible for everyone to agree on all laws.(or any for that matter) Who are you to say that it is wrong to break any certain law? Is it not law breaking that founded us America?
majindan, this isn't even your thread- i'd appreciate if you'd just shutup unless you have something good to say.
Joles...no offense, but America kicks ass. That being said...there are some stupid laws out there. Have you ever read those books that have crazy laws in them. Like for instance: in one state it may be illegal to wash your dog after 5pm. lol, who knows how or why that became a law. The point is, Cakefoo...nobody has gotten in trouble for modding an xbox. The only thing you are going to be able to do that is not illegal includes: a modchip with linux, painting your xbox, adding various LEDs, and upgrading hardware inside you xbox, such as a new dvd drive. And whoever said that the xbox will read a cdr is nuts. Maybe it can, but you will have to search forever to find a brand it will like, not to mention that you need to have a certain dvd drive in your xbox. I do believe that this thread has ran it's course. You have all of the possible answers to your question, even if you are not satisfied with them.
hey shdwsfall, my xbox can read cdr's. i have a samsung drive in my xbox and all cdr's read perfectly on mineyou just have to burn it eaither in windows media player or nero at 8x or slower. cdr's usually work in samsung drives and not on most of other drives like philips or thompson
how do i report an abusive poster? We're all trying to calm down and be civil here, and have an intelligent conversation and someone keeps coming in here and tryin to destroy our whole meaning for having a wholesome conversation. Now, back to the topic at hand- My xbox may or may not be able to play dvd-r's, someone just said... is there a way to find out, (besides buying a burner and trying it- and no I don't know anyone with a dvd burner) Before anyone gets upset that I ask too many questions, just think back to when you could admit you didn't know everything... Wouldn't you want your questions answered too? If you dont want to answer or help me, in spite of the fact that I ask a lot of questions, feel free to insult me. I have no problem with your insults, as they are just words. This is a help/support forum, not a "move on and stop bugging me" forum... I'm not twisting your arm, saying you gotta stay here and listen to me.
Ok, i found an older post with a site ( http://www.freewebs.com/xboxdrives/ ) and i have the thomson, unfortunately. I don't know if it's impossible to get it to read dvd-r, or if it's just hit or miss... I'm not expecting an accurate response concerning that...
