will the xecuter2 thing show up under the xbox logo on boot up even if you have no boot disc or dashboard installed??

if yes mine doesnt and the xbox just stays at the boot screen after the flubber thing

EDIT :: reflashed with EVOX M8 bios. i believe i have a good flash considering the purple thing that says evox show up in the top left. still no luck with my piece of ass drive anyone have ideas??

Well if that shows up then your chip should be installed right and your bios should be flashed right. Then it does nothing?

You should try dvd-r. Some drives have a hard time reading certain types. Also double check to make sure you made the disc correctly.

Well one more thing to try would be to download either xbtool or evtool and open your bios up. There it will say the name of the file in you drive to boot. For example it should say default.xbe but if for some reason somebody messed with it before you got it it could be something else. Other than that I don't know what to tell you.
