xp install

    hope somebody can help me here cant get my head round this

    ok so ive tried to install 3 different copies of windows xp onto my hard drive, they are all legal by the way.

    i format the drive first it reboots the install works then everytime when it gets to 34 mins left it freezes, and it does the same on all 3 versions.

    anybody any idear what may be causing this

    Probably leftover data on the drive. Try partitioning it differently and see what happens.

    it sounds like the drive has bad secotors in witch case get a new HDD
    or
    try low leval formatting the drive that way there will be no data at all on the drive i hear FDISK is good

    let me no how u got on

    i took the sound card and wireless card out then tried the install again and it worked so its all good
