major problem re-installed xp on hp desktop device manager says missing driver unable to find or identify driver got driver detective scanned pc it said real tek ac97 audio driver and vga video driver missing downloaded both drivers video seems ok real-tek crashed pc it says not microsoft driver singed i cant get any audio i have read some similar threads but a newby at this so any help would be gratefully recieved ??? regards eagle
Hard to understand a paragraph with no punctuation, but go to HP's website, and see if they have the driver for your computer.
tried all packard bell drivers none work or crash pc. sorry i put hp it is in fact a packard bell pc i have, fault seems to be in install it was dell copy of xp i used also checked out dell drivers they dont work either ? sorry about the bad grammar new to this.any help would be gratefully recieved . eagle
press the windows key and r at the same time, in the box that apears type dxdiag and click ok, on the next window that apears click on the sound tab and it will tell you type of sound card you have. you can then google it for the driver you need.
Computer id according p/bell is model 3065 media alt-col2 pentium4 2.8 ghz processor .hope its accurate nothing of any help on p/bell website, windows device manager the same windows run diagnostic the same the only different was to try the entertainment window volume control advises go to printer fax window and add hardware audio mixer nothing in that window about audio only add printers or fax so pc still silent,now ran out of options, have installed all p/bell and other allternative drivers nothing works i have done a install before without any major problems !! eagle
finally solved this problem it was windows xp pro fault wont accept a straight download, load the drivers and then the updates for them seperatly thanks for pointing me in the right direction . eagle
