XP SP3 crashed my computer

    I got the unoficial release of SP3 for XP and i get that error on startup... i forgot it, but you can easily find it out witha quick google, it was a missing DLL file, luck i am, i had linux on there aswell!! but ive replaced about 10 DLLs so far, isnt there like 200? omgomgomg, i do have a MS-DOS boot floppy, is there a command i can use to recover it, i dont have any xp recovery CDs

    Did you get SP3 directly from Microsoft, or a 3rd party site?

    had sp3 prerelease on my computer and it did all kinds of strange stuff.id wait until its officially reaeased before reinstalling as an update.

    It's been held back because even M$ have found bugs in it..

    Avoid even the official update unless you have a pressing reason to upgrade.
    Release put back to 30/5 at last notice.

    thanks for replying, yea i reinstalled xp, its good now, except all my files gone...
    i would have never thought in my life that it would crash my computer!

    Ok, chances are your computer is so wound up inviruses, it's not funny. Didn't you read the acrticle somewhere on the net that people were just integrating nasty worms and such into the release?
