Hi.Ive downloaded SP3 and it played havoc with nero, and slowed my pute down.It caused many hung app errors, and affected my graphics performance. So I took it off,and still suffered app hangs, and was unable to use system restore as it became corrupted. So a reformat and reinstall sorted that out.But thats just my experiance.

In fact thinking about it now (I have the memory of a goldfish), Im pretty sure that the first time i tried to install it i had to remove an existing update before sp3 would install.Which one it was ill be damned if i can remember.I wonder if Net framework had anything to do with my probs with sp3,cos I havent installed 1 2 or 3 cos I found that they caused me probs too!But it still sure beats the hell out of Virusta.
@ddp, this is off topic but do you know any common causes as to why restore gets corrupted?thanks

Having just reformatted and reinstalled after the sp3 fiasco, the other flaming updates wouldnt install.Theyd download fine, but wont install.Having buggered about adding the website to a trusted zone in ie, turning off my av/fw, still wouldnt install. My solution was to install 10 at a time, rebooting aftger every installation.Great fun when youve got 107 to install....but hey it worked.

Yeah that's true. If you start from scratch, and install SP3, you have no problems. If you update a PC that has a lot of files you may have some trouble. I spent 3 days off work/school so I could help Microsoft trace the problem of my PC not booting after installing SP3. It turns out if you don't have the original boot.ini, SP3 fails to install correctly. Other than that, it should have no effect on your PC.
