The labtop powers up fine and starts booting up windows but than gets stuck at the screen where its blue and says Windows xp welcome right before entering to the desk top. I can't go into safe mode. I can't get into system recover with f10 or R key. I need help.

update: Used windows os CD to boot into recovery. Ran chkdsk /p twice and said it found and fixed errors. Restarted computer but still didn't boot. Went back to recovery mode ran chkdsk /p /r. It took like 40mins than stopped at %65 and said unrecoverable problem. I restarted and was able to run windows on safemode. I burned a few files i needed on dvd+r to be on the safe side. I than restarted regularly xp and it worked.
