I've got some avi movies that just won't play on Windows Media Player v.10. That GS software told me I needed an Xvid codec, but I tried every one under the sun. Maybe I'm not installing them correctly, or there's some other problem? Oh yeah, the files, under their properties, are listed as have 0.00.00 duration time. What's the deal??

Avoid the 'properties'. If you cannot read that AVI correctly it's all messed up.
TRi un-installing every codec you have and installling, just to be sure, Xvid and DivX (just the trialware version is needed to DECode). This because GSpot migh have mistaken...80% of the movies are decoded with DivX, the remaining 19% by Xvid.
