Can someone please help me. I'm trying to split a XVID but cannot find any program to do it therefore I need something that will either convert XVID to anything (XVID sucks, I can't find any compatible programs) or brn an XVID to VCD while splitting it. All Nero will do is convert the XVID and then tell me I need a bigger CD instead of splitting it for me.

    Thanks in advance

Most Programs that support AVI files will also Support XviD files as Ling as you have the XviD codec installed....

You can use "Virtual-Dub" to Cut the File in Half...
(Select "Direct stream Copy" for both the audio and Video)

Or you can Use Tmpgenc to encode the File to Mpeg1/VCD...You can use it"s "Source Range" option to Select the First half of the File and encode it and then select the second Half of the File and encode it and then you Can Burn Both halves to CD-R as a VCD useing Nero....

Are you Planning on Cutting the File in half and then Letting Nero encode it to VCD ???
If so that is a Bad Idea cuz Nero uses a Very Low Quality Mpeg1/VCD encoder and will produce very Low Quality VCD"s.....

Thanks for the help. I was using Nero yes, because TMPGENC could not open the video, only the audio part

Ok, I've tried the virtual-dub programme, but for some reason it converts the 700meg file I have, into two 26gig files???

Well for Mpeg1/VCD encodeing Tmpgenc is probably the best for Quality....
If you get a "can Not Open or Unsupported" error in tmpgenc when trying to load in your AVI files then just go to "options" to "enviromental settings" to "Vfapi Plugins" and Raise the priority of the "Direct Show File Reader" to "2" and then the file should load no problem....

    Cheers
