Okay, I'm makin' coasters. Grrr. New to the DVD burning thing, this website has been a terrific help so far... I did all the stuff with DVDShrink, then went to bed while my DVD was a-burnin'... this morning, got up, and saw that it failed in burning... dang. Soooo, I tried burning from the ripped files in the computer, and got "illegal disc" error... tried setting my burn speed a little lower, still got the same error message.

Using a Sony DVD burner and Sony DVD-R's...

    What follows is the log...

First, you need to edit out your Nero Serial number:

Update your nero to the latest version. YOu can do that here:

    http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/nero-up.php

You are also several firmware versions behind. You can update here:

    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_result.php?kaj=1&isces

Here is an issue as well. You need to free up some of your memory. You only have 63mb available. You should also upgrade your memory to a minimum of 512mb, but a gig would be better.

Set your target size to 4300 so you do not burn to close to the edge of the media.

While 6x burning is not considered fast, I would recommend 4x as most at this forum recommend this speed until you become very familiar with your chosen media and its peculiarities.

This will probably resolve itself with the firmware update.

Give these ideas a go and try again.

    Post back your results.

    Cheers

    Thanks again!
