Hi. I am somewhat new to the dvd burning troubleshooting, so I would appreciate a little expert assistance.

I have no trouble burning CD:s, but my attempts at burning dvd:s are not as successful. I always get the illegal disc error.

I have downloaded the latest firmware to my Sony DW-Q120A OEM burner. It supports the DVD+RW format. I have updated nero to the latest version. What is left to do?

Get yourself some respectable discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)

Apart from that your log looks fine.

Hey. I know nothing about troubleshooting burning problems, and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm trying to burn a game to a DVD-R. I tried just adding the files to the compilation and burning and i got the illegal disc error. I also tried making an image of those files, then burning the image, with the same results. Here is the log file from burning the files. I'm hoping it's an easy fix. Thanks in advance!!

    Sorry about the thread.

    Ok. I got the updates.

I don't know what the "book type" thing means. Does it just mean that I need to get a different type of CD? And if so, do I need DVD+R or DVD-RW?

    Thanks for your help.
