Yep, that's me. A noob. I have 2 Dbox2 units that i cannot get to work. 1 is black, the other is silver. both are 2xintel chips inside. Both units have exactly the same fault. When you power them up, nothing happens. the screens glows faintly, but that's about it. I have succesfully flashed a third box using the guides from this forum, but these 2 are proving difficult. when i use IFA i am told the boxes have failed 'pinging' Are these 2 boxes dead, or can life be squeezed out of them? Any help would be greatly appreciated ( they were supposed to be presents for my kids, do i really have to go shopping? ( I hate shopping! ) )
You need a nullmodem cable. You can only determine via a nullmodem cable if only the lcd is dead or the whole box.
ok. thanks. i'vew ordered a nullmodem cable online, it should get to me in a few days. When it arrives can you tell me what i do then... Do i need any particular software? If the lcd is dead can it be replaced easily? If both boxes are dead do i just bin them? thanks again for replying.
