I have my PC connected to my Samsung DLP tv via the PC input on the TV (VGA cable). Everything displays great on the TV, but when I try to play a video using Windows Media Player 11, it just shows as a black window on the TV. Is there some setting I'm missing?

its your computer, are you using a dual display or solely the hdtv as your display.

If it is dual display, verify that in the video properties you have it so the secondary screen plays the video.

If its solely on the tv, does it play video using another player such as vlc or gom player. if so, then its media player that is have the issue, check its settings.

I get that stuff all the time. Sometimes its just a simple reload of the page. Other times just turn down Hardware Acceleration.
Right click, properties, settings, advance, troubleshoot. Play around with the bar. It should work.
