Ive tried using both OSEx and DVDExtractor and neither one work. DVDExtractor creates an unplayable file and OSEx will rip through about the halfway point (maybe the layer switch?) and then freeze, creating a playable m2v file of about the first half of the movie. Any suggestions? edit: Ok I tried ripping after chapter 24, the problem chapter, and it froze again during chapter 32, so i dont think its a layer switch problem.
Maybe a scratch or some dirt on the disc? I've never had a problem extracting a DVD (lucky me). I doubt very much that one chapter is super-encrypted to stop you making a back up copy. Or maybe your machine isn't up to the task? You could transfer the DVD onto your HD using either DVDBackup or MacTheRipper and processing them from there.
