Hi all. I come here from time to time to look at questions, but nobody ever has a question I can answer (it says I’m a newbie, but I’ve been on here for over a year now). Anyway, I bought an off brand 5K UHD camcorder that’s snake bit. I know, that’s on me. I have 3 Sandisk sd cards, a 32GB, 128GB, and a terabyte card (1TB). I know, I should have known better to even try with the 32GB. But that terabyte card certainly should’ve worked. Well, the camera won’t format a damn one of them, so I...

My Sony camcorder is unfortunately broke (well the viewfinder is). Nowhere seems to fix them locally, and Sony want a minimum of £160 !
I noticed that some of the stores have almost none in stock now, and the one guy said its because you can get just as good video footage with a camera.
Any thoughts on this guys ?
Id rather just buy a new camera , as we could do with upgrading ours anyway as its quite old anyway.
My guess is it wont be as good as a camera, but we don't shoot that much...
Hi friends.

I am an amateur with camcorders. I have some intermediate experience with graphic design and with the recording and editing of music, but not with video editing. I am trying to learn fast how to do both filming and editing. (I have two laptops, one is a PowerBook G4 and the other, a Sony Vaio. The one has iMovie, so I think I will be editing with that, for now. With only 2GB of RAM and a 2GHz processor, I don't have much to work with. I am open to using Windows as well.)
