Any thoughts on this guys ?
Id rather just buy a new camera , as we could do with upgrading ours anyway as its quite old anyway.
My guess is it wont be as good as a camera, but we don't shoot that much...

I am an amateur with camcorders. I have some intermediate experience with graphic design and with the recording and editing of music, but not with video editing. I am trying to learn fast how to do both filming and editing. (I have two laptops, one is a PowerBook G4 and the other, a Sony Vaio. The one has iMovie, so I think I will be editing with that, for now. With only 2GB of RAM and a 2GHz processor, I don't have much to work with. I am open to using Windows as well.)

The LCD touchscreen has suddenly stopped working. Instead of displaying menu's , or showing what your viewing thru the camera, its just a blank grey screen.

I have tried pressing the rest button on the camera to no avail.

Any techies out there offer any help ?

I have a Sony Handycam HDR-cx260. I'd like to avoid using Sony's software if at all possible to get the movies into AVCHD format.

I'm trying to get from their default folder setup to burn AVCHD using imgburn (to DVD+R & DVD+R DL media).

The folder trees are different than described in the "BURN AVCHD with IMGBURN" faq.
