I use a DVE795 for years for my dvd recording from a panasonic dvd recorder to a pioneer industrial dvd recorder and works great strips out the dvd encryption and records a perfect dvd with all menus just encryption gone.

The problem is the video has an inconsistent vertical jitter that wraps the top of the video down to the bottom about every half second to full second. I'm archiving old digital 8 and hi 8 tapes from a digital 8 camera to a black magic intensity pro. All my VHS went through more or less fine, but most of my 8mm tapes are either dirty or just ruined because they look like this:
