The heck with metal gear 2 substance I gave up, I just bought a 2end copy at EB games for 10 bucks.

HURSTY Is there another program that works just like nero burning rom and is easy to use?

If so is there a guide for it?

    MY nero demo ran out

I bought a certain DVD player just because it had nero with it I did not Know that nero OEM would not have everything in it, I dont want to by nero again.
    Thank you for your time,

to play back up games you need a chipped ps2 or one of the swap magic solutions

here is a list of places you can acquire swap magic (which in my opinion is often a safer solution)

    http://www.swapmagic3.com/Swap_Magic_Where_To_Buy.asp

having a chipped ps2 is easier because you just put the disc in and play but you either have to know someone who can fit it or take a risk and try fit it yourself. of course if you're handy with a soldering iron you will be ok

Please read the forum rules this thread is based on rebuilding your PS2 games not Backing up PS2 games.
Try the searh button or look at the PS2 threads,

Also people cant help you because of the rules.
stealing games from blockbuster is illegal! up to a $250,000 fine.

You need to get a fliptop case or tools to put in your PS2 so it dont know your swapping the backup with swapmagic.

There is no need to post on this subject all the questions are answered inside. Spend some time looking like the rest of us had to do.
Im not being mean im just telling you how it is.

    wtf...!!!!!

the whole point of rebuilding is to get rid of the dummy.dat file

do not extract it...leave it alone.....but

    you must replace it

create a new text doc (right click on mouse),then opn the new text doc and press space bar once(puts in 1 byte of data)

then rename the text doc to DUMMY.DAT

you will get some kind of warning about changing extensions...ignor it

then drag the text doc named DUMMY.DAT into nero,in place of the original DUMMY.DAT file

this is how you do it

i created text doc named it dummy.dat no warning when i use nero it comes up dummy.dat.txt and the reason i didn't remove it in first place cause i thought was part of game cause with out it game only 1500mb

somehow when saving it still saved as a text file

what operating system are you using?

if you are using 98 i know you have to click the dropdown menu and select all files when you are saving then for example name it dummy.dat

however what ever the problem there you can fix it

go to control panel then choose folder options

go down to where it says 'hide extensions for known file types' then UN-CHECK that box

this will now display the full name of all files (remember to change this back afterwards)

now find that dummy.dat.txt file and rename it to dummy.dat

it may give you a message saying 'renaming an extension can make the file unstable do you wish to proceed' or something like that

    just select ok

it will now be ready for use

    hope this helps

REMEMBER TO CHANGE THE 'HIDE EXTENSION FOR KNOW FILE TYPES' BACK TO HOW IT WAS AS AN UNEXPERIENCED USER CAN MESS THINGS UP IF THEY START CHANGING FILE EXTENSIONS!!!!!!!

    Hi Hursty,

Just wondering if you can help a n00b out here. I downloaded the Fifa 06 Dagger torrent 100% successfully, but I've now ended up with the first file as an IMG file(not ISO) and the rest are like 55 files that are just sitting in the folder.

My question is, when I try to follow the instructions on how to rebuild fifa eg: Load the IMG file into isobuster..but the thing is, when I load the IMG file to isobuster I am left with Track 01 and nothing else..no other subfolders or anything..nothing.

I can't highlight any files because their is nothing there which leaves me wondering where I am going wrong with this. Can you pls advise asap what/where do you think the problem is?

What are the 55 files names? IS this your first DL game?

If so you have to extract the ISo out of the files most people use WinRar cause its free and easy to use,

Type ( extract ISO ) into the search button)

If this is not your problem Im sorry, I dont know what your talking about.

Also you probally dont have to rebuild the game Most people just rebuild them cause they say they load faster. but there is a couple games out there you have to rebuild in order for them to work
