Go with DivXtoDvD IT'S VERY SIMPLE and easy to use plus it's a quality program and FREE. Give it a go. This may aid you if needed: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/221819
Unfortunately, DivXtoDVD seems to be a PC program, so I don't think it would help on a G4. Some of the things I have tried have had mixed results. I started off trying to use the FFmpegX method, but I almost always ended up with a disk that the Audio and Video didn't like each other. I did the full author and let the program make the VIDEO_TS folder for me. I tried taking the m2v and ac3 files and authoring them with Sizzle and it all turned out the same. I just got Toast 7 and I have to say its a godsend. I never tried to do it in Toast 6, but in 7 you can just drop your AVI into the window under DVD Video, put a disk in, click record, go to bed and in the moring you should have a fully playable disk. I have made about 5 full length movies from avi to dvd and 3 tv series disk with 4 or 5 episodes each and they all played great. Hope this helps you out and good luck. You may want to try it in 6 before upgrading, but if it doesn't work, Roxio is offering a discount of sort for registered users who purchased after a certain point.
when u do that, does it make it a video_ts folder that are on dvds, also can u do it by using videocd?
It actually won't start until you put the disk in for it to burn on, so it does everything. To answer your question, yes, but it only saves a m2v and an ac3 file to the Roxio Converted items folder. For me the entire process has taken about 8-10 hours, from drag and drop to burned disk ready to play. The VideoCD option should work roughly the same way. I have only used it once, and I was dealing with mpg in that situation, but it did burn to the CDr and play fine in my player. So far I have had no problems with Toast 7. It has DivX, AVI and XviD support all built in. If you are fortunate enough to have a DVD player that supports the format, you can just burn a divx disk and not even have to encode.
