Hi I purchased the Eurovox 2008 max box but it wouldn't work for me cos I have N*L MMDS in the Galway area. I tried it in my fiends house who has the ordinary NTL digital in Galway and it worked perfect. Could someone please advise me as to the best box out there for Galway MMDS. I don't really know anything about flashing etc. Is there a box I can get that worked like the eurovox 2008 series where you can just do a scan for the channels without having to do that or if not if somebody could direct me to a thread for how to do what is necessary to get the channels. I just want to get the S*y - Sports and movie channels and the seta*ta ones. Would really appreciate any info on this.

    Thanks a lot.

First of all , please remove your email address as the mods dont allow it and its against the rules on this forum :)

There is a little notepad icon to the right of your post [IMG] , click that to edit a message :)

Secondly the Eurov0x will work on N*L MMDS in Galway

Are you in a digital or analogue area ?

thanks for the reply. I have removed my email address sorry about that. Im in Oranmore have the aerial on the roof. I done a full power scan and it didn't pick anything up at all. I then tried it in my friends house who lived in town in Galway and had the ordinary NTL digital and we got all the channels. I was reading through a lot of threads here on info and it seems that it doesn't work in MMDS areas. Here's one of the threads I came across:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/458743

The box I have is the eurovox max 2008 series.

    Thanks,
    Gary.

The frequencies for Waterford and Dublin mmds doesn't help much.
A powerscan for the range 250mhz to 402mhz and symbol rate 6887 would be better.
Btw. there are no analogue channels being offered via ntl mmds.

Was your MMDS Aerial ever set up to receive normal MMDS in Galway. Does it have direct line of sight to Toonabrooky in Rahoon? Do you have a downconverter on the aerial to convert the high frequency broadcast signal to the lower frequency signal the box can accept?

thanks for the replies. I've made a balls of this. After I got the box back from my friend where it worked I tried it again in my own house just done a power scan and it worked I got about 30 channels. I then ran a scan from 100 - 800MHZ and got 45. I was still mising sky sports 1 and the sky movie channels. After I saw the posts I first tried changing the frequency to 6.887 and got no channels back at all. I then tried going to channel edit to try and manually put in sky sports 1 from the frequency that Celtic71 gave me and no joy. I changed back then to the original 6.952 and got no channels at all. I went to Config and restored factory defaults thought this would do the trick so i'd at least get the 30 or so channels I had in the first place but still no joy.

When I go to into Ch Edit I have nothing at the moment tried entering a channel it will let me save it but when I do the power scan I only get this channel that I have saved but it doesn't have a picture. I've tried the full and normal scans and I'm getting nothing now. While it's scanning the Quality and level are both around the 90% mark. When It worked for me the first time after the scan I had 30 or so channels in the User Installation. Now every time I have none or else 1 if I try and add a channel in the Ch Edit screen but don't see anything for this.

Also when I am in the Full Power Scan screen There is 4 Symbol Rate Boxes the bottom 3 are all set to 0.000 Mbaud and the first one I have set at 6.952 as that was the one that gave me the channels in the first place and for step I have 8

Any ideas where I have gone wrong?
    Thanks

The symbol rate is 6887 for ntl and the symbol rate has nothing to do with the frequency.
Choose frequency range 250.00 to 402.00 for the powerscan.

I set the symbol rate at 6.887 and the one that was already on it (6.852 I think). No joy tried the scan between 100 and 400 also full scan and between 100 and 800 im getting nothing back. Because I restored the factory default has this messed it up? do I need to flash it etc?

    Hi Gary,
I'm on another thread http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/589822#3605248 but I think I'm having the same problem. My uncle is on the N*L chor*us out near Abbeyknockmoy and the eurovox 2008 isn't picking up anything. I've tried it in town (cable) and it works great, also tried it at my sister's MMDS and it only got 38 channels, the ones she already has! What's the difference between analog and digital? ie, is there a different aerial or something? will it work on N*L Chor*s out in the country (abbey's about 18 miles from town). Anyone help us?
    my system info is
    model DVB-XCBOX V TDA
    s/w ver 1.0 STC4 Oct15 2007
    h/w ver 2.0t K5
    bootstrap V001
    s/w build KURO
tried both symbol rates 6887 and 6875 (for c*orus), but neither worked. I'm lost...

If I write 250.00 for the beginning frequency I mean 250.00.
The scan count in 8 mhz steps and if you start with the wrong beginning frequency to don't hit the valid frequencies.

    S/W Ver 1.0 STC4 Oct 15 2007
    H/W Ver 2.ot K5

If you do a powerscan for the range 250 mhz to 402 mhz you should get all channels.

If you get only 12 channels you are doing a single scan at 250 mhz.

this is exactly what i'm doing going to Installation - User Installation Clicking the yellow button for power scan

    Mode: Normal
    Start 250.00 MHZ
    Stop 402.00 MHZ
    Symbol Rate 6.887 Mbaud
    Symbol Rate 0.000 Mbaud
    Symbol Rate 0.000 Mbaud
    Symbol Rate 0.000 Mbaud
    Step: 8

While the scan is running I see this on screen:

    TP : 000

    250MHz --6887(SR)

On one of the scans I done a second one appeard at 362MHz and I can now see 24 channels although a good few of the channels are repeated.

After the scan on the user Installation screen I can see this:

    CHNUM Frequency Symbol Rate Modulator
    0001 250.000 Mhz 6.887 Mbaud QAM64
    0002 362.000 Mhz 6.887 Mbaud QAM64

Do a factory reset and try the right power scan again.
