part II of this guide is for "emulation detected"

    ****alcohol/emulation guide ***********************************************
Link down. I appreciate your efforts on how to get The Sims 2/University to play, however majority of the NO CD patches/images(Alcohol 120%/Daemon Tools) has been blacklisted.

i know i'm not member of the staff neither a moderator but i just can't stand the mess in this thread.
    to make things clear:

    1. you are not allowed to write about warez, cracks or whatever
    2. what about reading the previous posts????? ppl just ask teh same questions several times in this thread although the answer was provided on the first pages! dont just use the search function and post a question to a thread you haven't read. that's jsut stupid and nonsense.

finally i really thank nephilim and shoey for their help and i admire their continiung patience with some people, i'd already have given it up...

I hope I don't undermine the intentions of this whole site, but I found a much easier method that doesn't even require the latest burner. It's not a one to one copy, but it's even better:

All you have to do is install the game from the original cd/cds and the folder you install it to you make an image file, which isn't even necessary since you're not installing the game. If the game is more than 700MBs (ie Fifa2005), then split the folder into two other folders, that you can later put together to get the game again. If you don't believe me try this with any game with a tough cd protection. Just make sure you can reassemble the game. Rofl, you don't even need to do all the stuff that's been mentioned before.

PLEASE NOTE: Most games such as Sims2 require the cd to play. Though there are cracks that you can go around that, I won't mention them due to being warez.

To make a back of a game:

    Step1) Install the game

Now that folder is the game

Step2) Burn to cd regular way

For games that are more than 700MB:

    Step1)Install

Step2)Make as many folders as necessary that are under 700MB. For example, if you're doing The Sims2, make the folders: copyfolder1, copyfolder2, copyfolder3, and copyfolder4.

Step3)See how many megabites each folder is in the original game installation folder by right-clicking and clicking on properties.

Now I know in probably all games above 700MB, the folders data bin and others are above 700MB themselves, so what you have to do is:

Step 1)say your data file is 1.4GB, make folder called data in both your first copyfolder and your second one.

Step2)Here it is a bit more complex, you have to open the data folder and see each of the individual folders' space. In most cases there aren't subfolders that go over 700MB.

Step3)Put as many folders as possible in your data folder in your first copyfolder that won't cause it to go over 700MB, but aren't too low either (say 300MB).

Step4) The folders that you didn't put in the data folder of your first copyfolder, you put in the data folder of your copyfolder 2.

Step5)Put the other folders from the main folder in your copyfolder3 that won't cause it to go over 700MB, and the rest in your copyfolder4

    Step6)Burn the folders to cds

If you need more help tell me.

Well what I wrote was a process of how to do it, but I'll just give you the general idea:

When you install the game, the folder that you have, you have to separate the files in it into as many folders under 700MB, in the case of TheSims2, 4, and put some of the folders in the 1st and when you run out of space, say 695MB you start putting folders in your other folders. Now some folders will be by themselves over 700MB, so what you do is create those folders (empty) in as many of your copyfolders as you need. Example:

Say you have a data folder that is 1.2 GB and a bin folder that is 1.6. The data folder will have subfolders and files. What you do is create two folders called data in two of your copy folders and fill each of them with the files system, gfx etc that are under 700MB. You do this for Bin folder too. I'll post a pic soon for more help.

@ Renas, WTF, you got to be joking: split, then reassemble? ha, ha, ha easier?
P.S. most peeps do not have the CD's.

Could somebody please sticky the godd stuff in this thread and then take this thread out out my misery? thanks, cami

hmm mate that doesn't look like if your cd's are the issue. instead, check if you have latest drives for you rgraphic card. also try to get the newest patch/update for the game, as start-screen-freezes are well-known to me and they were due to old drivers...
maybe you'll find help on a sims 2 forum.

    good luck
