I have previously been able to back up dvds using mactheripper, dvdone2x, then burning with toast, but recently I keep receiving the following error message: "Could not record the disc because there is a problem with the source material Result code = -18774."

This happens at the end of the process and still burns something to the disc but it won't play on the computer or in my dvd player.

When I first started, I was using Sondy CD-R when it worked, but have used Memorex DVD-R and Maxwell DVD - R, which haven't worked.

Is it the DVD-Rs I am using or is there another problem?

    Thanks for the help.

What settings are you using in Toast to burn the DVD?

I thought so. You have to use the data tab and select DVD-ROM (UDF) under the advanced options.

PS. You have recently upgraded to Panther, haven't you?

I am using Panther and have burned using the data tab and DVD-ROM (UDF) under the advanced options. I am able to burn onto a CD, but unable to view. Any ideas on how to get it to play

Are you trying to burn a DVD-R or a CD-R?

What do you mean? Doesn't it play on the computer or on a
    stand- alone player?

PS. What computer and DVD drive do you have?

It is not able to play on my computer Powerbook G4 or a stand alone DVD player. The DVD burner is internal on the Powerbook. It is called: Matshita DVD-R UJ=816

Are you sure you are using a DVD-R and not any of the other formats like +R, +RW or -RW?

Also can you play the VIDEO_TS folder you get after DVD2OneX?

They are definitely DVD-R and I cannot play theVideo_TS file after it goes through DVD2Onex

Then you are getting into trouble before burning. To work out where it goes wrong try the VIDEO_TS folder after MTR and if it works you know the problem is with DVD2OneX.

PS. Just in case, the way to play the VIDEO_TS folder is to open DVDPlayer, click on "File" and select "Open VIDEO_TS Folder", navigate to the right one and choose it and then you have to press play on the controler.
