    Howdy all...

I am sure this question has been answered, but I don't see it specifically anywhere.

I want to install a more modern iLife (bought from eBay) onto my G4 400Mhz ( yes, you can all laugh now....;-)). The G4 hasn't got a SuperDrive; Profiler says it's a Matshita DVD-CD player only, and the iLife DVD won't install unless it sees a SuperDrive.

So, I can go out and buy a Samsung, a Pioneer or whatever, and swap out the Matshita; but I read somewhere that an XBox can be used as a SuperDrive reader. I have an original XBox, ie: _not_ a 360. I tried connecting it via the EtherNet port, but though Profiler sees it as a Device, I can't access it. Does anybody know about how to do this, or can someone point me to the archives in this area?

    Thanks

    Highly doubt it would work.

Why cannot you buy a firewire external DVD case and IDE DVD/RW+- drive to work fine.
I have a pioneer external case with a Sony DVD/rw+- in it.
