Much agreed. Some Mods are compete pricks (other forums). That has been one of the major reasons why this was the first forum I ever joined.

I think this thread needs a newbie to represent. I have to confess to reading the forum rules. In fact I've actually searhed for information and found answers to my numerous questions and learned alot in the process. I've only been aware of afterdawn for about a month and already I'm amazed at the crap people ask...Can I say crap?

Hopefully being a smart ass isn't against the rules! :)

Holy Shit, he said crap. Thats a fusking mean, bad-ass word. Need to try and control that lol - dont be copying my language, i really shouldnt use it - but thats what herbsman is here for, he's my personal moderator (and Praetor too) who correct all my cock-ups lol.

I hope not or im definitely on the "to be kicked out and stamped on" list. You'v eheard the term; "No one likes a smart arse", well i disagree, i find it funny listening to smart arses posting - if its all clean good humour meant in the nicest possible way...

Oriphus, I'm not familiar with the term cock-ups. It sound pretty interesting though...

We don't have it here over in New England. By New I mean currently controled by a facist, arrogant, and utterly stupid regime. Buy hey, I guess your either with us or against us! :(

If the forum rules are anything like our diminishing civil liberties in the US, we are all screwed!

lol - thats very profound of you, but America's civil liberties are fairly decent, if only they were followed. The one thing i horribly disagree about with America, is that it does not give its citizens free Health and medical care - that should be at the forefront of every modern society.....

But lets not turn this one into a political thread lol :D

Yeah, you make a good point. Don't forget about free University education though! Of course, I am happy when I get an extra donut in the box. (I try to keep my expectations low).

No more political musings from now on, I swear! ;)

Oriphus, Must be nice to have your own Mod but you do need one.

Good to see someone else has read the rules. I am not the only one. Well I do assume dRD has read them, We hope.

    I think I've got the answer....LOL

When someone new signs up to AfterDawn make them go through an elaborate tutorial before they are able to start that first post: have a series of quizes where they click in the answer they think is correct and if they don't read the information and answer correctly it just keeps on going round and round and round in circles until they finally get it. Especially on how to actually use the search function. ehehehehehe

make note to self to take anti-sarcasism pill tonight

Oh you mean like those do you agree with all the terms of the software your about to install things. Sure I "read" those all the time. Scoll though and accept is the way to be.

Well yes and no - I was thinking more of giving them basic need to know info that they have to read - then they have to answer a question about that particular information - get it right, move on.....wrong answer and go to jail lol just like a game of monolopy

e.g Make em read ScubaPete's post on why we custom size a disc then give 'em multi choice tick box answer to check.

    a)4460
    b)4300
    c)4350
    d)4360

hehehehehehe of course the suggestion is all in good fun and not to be taken seriously!

It would be good fun, though the plan for afterdawn is to try and get more users, and i think that would turn them away.

Id get Scubapetes quiz wrongthough :-( cuz i like to do everything differently to everyone else, that way i can still be unique lol :-D
