I'm a complete newb to making backups of DVDs. I've been successful in making a backup of a movie, but I have one movie in my collection that is not Region 1 that I would like to change to Region 0 since it is essentially useless as it is.

Which program would allow me to change my backup to Region 0? So far, I've only used DvDXCopy, which doesn't really present an option to remove/change regions, so I'm assuming it made an exact backup of the original movie with the original region protection.

Hi there Buatha, welcome to the new century -

I think we all started with XCopy and then we found out we could actually do things on our own.

Here's some base programs that once set-up are easier than XCopy and give us control too -

For starters here's a program that works behind the scenes making all regions region-free it's called DVD43 and like everything I'm giving you are FREE :)

(Make sure you also download the Patin-cauffin drivers to make DVD43 WORK -) HERE'S THE LINK FOR BOTH OF THEM - (It's 1/2 of the way down the page -

    http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/

Now here's a guide for another way to do everything (and this makes everything region-free too -)

Again, 1/2 way down the page -

    Cheers,
