Yes Red is genuine one and blue boxes are clones as of 2007. In regards to reliabilty they are just like the starview and the firmware will not be updated regulary for clone but will be for gen boxes.

This is what I have ben told the difference is between the blue and red boxes.....

"Blue box is last years model (06) and red box is this years model (07). Blue or Red is the colour of the packaging box they come in, that's it, same box otherwise virtually."

Can somebody tell me if it corect or not???

Why not go with a dreambox, they are a bit harder to set up, but are supposed to be rock solid. In regards to stabilty and are not cloned. Bit dearer but worth the money. You can get the image set up on it for an extra €30 or so well worth it if you dont want the hassle of doing it yourself.

This box is not for me mate, it`s for a pal.......

To be quite honest mate I don`t really have a clue about all this euro vox, dream box lark, all i have is a starview box which i paid somebody to install.......

My mate just wants something reliable( he is not to bothered about the cost) the main thing is that he needs something totally easy to set up, or even pay someone to set it up for him, whether it be euro vox, dreambox or whatever, as long as it`s the most reliablist.....

We are based in Hartlepool, so if anyone can help with the set up please let me know......

All he dosen`t want is a cloned one.....

I think the dreambox although abit techy...atleast its stable, most dreamboxs are sold up and running nowadays with everything installed to be working when it arrives. Just give your location and the image will be loaded on for you.

Just google dreambox UK and try to use a reputable seller and not fleabay.

I love the clone boxes myself, they have the potential to become an enthusiasts box, you can jtag them, the psu is v basic / easy to repair, the lcd, easy to swap out, the ir sensor can be picked up in maplins.

If your mate looks on flea bay someone is selling MK1 genuine starviews, around the £75 - £80 mark delivered.

What happened a few weeks ago to the starviews was really only V**** messing around, upgrading and migrating their systems, the way they did the work hit the starviews, next time it could affect the eurovoxs, you get no guarantees in this game.

Agree the Dream Box is a cracking box, but it can be complicated to set up.
