Cloned Starview Fix 11/04/2008

can some please help me

i have starview box1 looks 100%clone but its running on 4.00eE jun 2007

it was running for the last 9 months i have to files here which one do i put in

CryptStar-v1.4-Core257.bin

or


cryptstar-v1.4core400

please let me know which one

 

Just a word of advice to all those who have a starview that looks like a clone, but has 3.00 or 4.00 firmware loaded.

I took a copy of the 2.57eE_FIXED firmware, and changed it, don't worry, I only did this at home as a test. It was changed to report the version as 5.00, and had a release date of 18 Apr 2008.

I loaded it to the SV, went into System Info, and guess what, it showed up as exactly that, ver. 5.00 and date as 18 Apr 2008.

Now, imagine I am a seller of clone boxes, and the word is out that clones cannot have the latest firmware releases, 3.00 and 4.00. What am I going to do? I know, I'll modify the clone safe firmware so that it looks exactly the same as the genuine firmware when someone looks at the System Information in the menu.

Just be aware that this may be what has happened with your box. I don't know if this has been reported anywhere, but as in the bit above, if I was a clone seller, the game would have been up, so guess what I would have done.

Just be very careful what firmware you put on your starview.

I'm not trying to be a scaremonger, and as stated before, I don't sell boxes of any description, so I have nothing to gain. I just don't want people killing their boxes.

 

You load the CryptStar-1.4-Core257Bin I assume you got it from Eamos Library - the one I highlighted in your post >>>>

I have already told you - that you should update it with the official release thanks to Sunrise with this CryptStar-1.4-Core257Bin it will be safe for you to use on a clone, it has been released soley for the clone boxes, so if you want to keep your box safe flash it with this, again I assume you have downloaded from here >>>>>>>>

HI NEW USER JUST WONDERING ANYONE GOT ANY ADVICE HAVE A STARVIEW BOX I ENTERED CODE FROM THIS WEBSITE ON THURSDAY NIGHT IT CAME BACK FOR 1 MIN JUST WENT AGAIN NOW IT SAYS SCRAMBLED OR BAD CHANNEL HAVE TRYED THE NEW CODES SINCE BUT NO JOY. PLEASE HELP///

 

It would be helpful if you stated what area you are in, supplier and have you double checked the codes, let us know. Please drop the caps - we do not communicate that way on the forum it is against policy - check the system information API ver:----

In D24 i have double checked the codes api ver; 2.55e boot ver 7.0 22/july/2006. any ideas?

 

Well for a start that is a bit outdated, have you ever updated? - but more on that later - it should be okay and you should be receiving channels, might sound silly but check that the Key EMU is on, and also is it affecting all channels.

Never updated how do i go about that i will give it a go. Have about 10 channels setanta rte1&2 1 discovery channel.Emu is on. when searching for channels 174 found comes up but when you flick through there not on it?

 

Yes unfortunately you will have to manually input the keys, until you update to new firmware:->> check for your keys >>

Okay so you have re-scanned, found 174 on your correct provider - Then I would suggest that you do a factory re-set, before you re-scan and make sure EMU is on when finished. As it is not a recent problem with the keys they have been multi-rolling for 2 weeks now.

Before you attempt to update the box, please ensure that it is a genuine or clone box, count the vents on case 7 rows x 25 genuine - 7 rows x 18 clone - 7 rows x 13 first generation genuine. Let me know which it is.

 

Hope someone can help me out with this. I was tryin to flash my starview clone with the new firmware, But it just says flash failed before any % comes up. Its also saying now that the model number does not correct. Thanks in advance

 

Its a cloned box. I also did a factory reset on thursday,then scanned again,made sure emu was on and put the codes in again but still the same. I was going to get a new box would i be wasting my money or could it be just a simple explanation.Can anyone help?

when i did it work all the channel are back but now its running on 257ee is this right

Are you sure its a clone as 4.00e-E would normally kill it well within 9 months ?

If it is a clone then yes CryptStar-v1[1].4-Core257.bin is the correct file for clones.

 

Try this method below

Menu > Factory Setting
PIN 0000
OK to delete

Turn box off at the back for a minute and turn back on

English > Installation
Choose Provider etc
Automatic Scan
Press OK
Channels found
Exit

Press Menu then 1570
Turn EMU key ON

Exit , exit , exit


Press Menu then 1570 and press the "Set Default Key" , press OK , then go into Nagravision and input the codes , press OK to save each key data and tune into S*Y Sports and it should update for you

Have you used the NULL MODEM CABLE before ?

Also delete the GT ROM Loader from your PC and download it again as it might be a corrupt file

 

I havent used the cable before and I think it might not even be right it came in the box with the clone. Gonna see if I can get one today.
