also i uninstalled my DVD drive and stil nothing as far as i can tell on the DMA; I've been doing a simulated audio burn and comparing the logfile to what i've been told it should be.

    thanks...

I have heard that Nvidaia drivers can cause conflicts with Nero in some cases.
In this link temj shows how to do DMA
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/249637
    Bbmayo's guides:
    http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
another site/guide on DMA and the PIO mode:
    http://www.michna.com/kb/WxDMA.htm
the thread where the above link came from:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/245864
    another link to DMA guide:

and the thread it came from:

    and so forth.. :)
    and as to this question:
if you have CMC media, dump it and get some good stuff. Crap media causes the majority of problems in burning, and buying some good media can be the only thing you need to do, to fix a problem in many cases. I think you can tell from my sig line what i think of CMC.. :) If that was your own Nero burn log in the background of your screen capture your DMA's are off, and can be fixed by un-installing the drivers as per the many guides and links here. Use their methods, and post if you still have problems. It looks like someone is trying to help you on this in another thread. If so, please don't cross post as besides being against forum rules, the main problem i have with that is your questions get mixed up and it gets very hard to follow your problems in multiple posts. Not to be mean or anything like that, im always willing to help no matter how i stumble on to a problem.

I hear you. Verbs are good discs. Sometimes it is best to walk away from a problem for a little while. Clear your head, watch a movie, chase the wife/significant other, drink, or spark one up.. :) It will get fixed eventually unless you totally give up. You can do it, i feel it in the air. Just take a breather, then go back to step one, or try some more research. Computer problems can literally drive ppl crazy. I know, i've been there many times.

I see in your other thread the nero burn log:
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/249818
You are getting lots of help from ppl here, have any of the fixes worked for you? Once you get past the DMA settings, and all the other problems in your log, you should be good to go. I also noticed your ASPI driver has a ? on it. Nero info tool has a setting where it can detect and fix any aspi driver problem for each drive listed. You are also burning CDs which should be much easier than DVDs for making copies. Hang in there, you will get it fixed.

    I didn't mean ASPI driver
    that driver.
    and here is were the
    may be conficting with Nero.
Also i still can get a coaster if i try disc at once. If you try un-checking that in Nero, Nero will make an image on your HD to write from for the burn operation, where disc at once will try to read from the disc if you are doing a disc copy. It will take longer, but it works for me.

re those annoying (annoying as i still don't know how to reload them) nvatabus drivers - ie don't know how to fix DMA with nvatabus drivers. every search i've done on afterdawn is inconclusive. try this thread here -http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/217590 which in turn leads here -
