DVD+ and DVD-

    Hi all

    Sorry if this has already been answered before but can anyone explain what the difference is between DVD+ and DVD- also which is the best one to use for backing up my DVDs. I have heard that eventually there will be just 1 standard! is there any truth in this?

    I can't explain the difference between plus and minus formats but what you choose to backup with depends on a couple of things.
    1)What format does your dvd player support? Some of the newer players support both, while others only support one.

    2)What format does your writer burn to? Again some of the newer burners can read and write both formats but some will read both and only write to one.
